Walter Schmidt Obituary

Schmidt, Walter, Jr.

Apr 8, 1939 - Feb 23, 2025

Of Alden, NY went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning; beloved husband of Donna Schmidt (Nehrboss); dear father of Thomas (Dawn), Mark (Kimberly), Susan Roof (Mike), James (Andrea); also survived by 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and another on the way; brother of Donald (Paulette), Melvin (Gladys), Allen (Lori), and preceded in death by his sister Reta Marie (Dick) Woodard. A 1958 Graduate of Alden High School, Walter married his high school sweetheart in 1960. They would have celebrated their 65th Anniversary in April; He was well known for his construction and development business (Tomarsue, Inc.), Walter built homes for over 60 years, loved his wife and family, loved children and yodeled for anyone who would listen. Above that, Walter placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and wanted everyone to know about His Savior. His business cards included Matthew 7:14 - "Straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." No prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Marilla, NY located at 11651 Bullis Road, Marilla, NY at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Flowers gratefully declined.
