Bobby Woods Obituary
Bobby Glenn "Bob" Woods
Feb. 27, 1945 - July 22, 2023
Bobby Glenn "Bob" Woods, 78, died peacefully Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the home of his sister, with her by his side, after a long COPD illness. He was born on February 27, 1945 in Dallas County to Lloyd C Woods and Jewell Miller Woods.
Bob grew up in Dallas County and made a profession of faith as a young teen at Bible Baptist Church in Buffalo, MO. He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1963 and then joined the Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. He was united in marriage to Patricia Clayton and three children were born to this union. He worked for many years for Don McCurry and McCurry Motor Sales as a mechanic. He later worked for and retired from Shewmaker Auto Parts as a mechanic and machinist. On Feb 11, 1989 he married the love of his life, Judy Davis Smith and together with her children they were a family until her death.
Bob is survived by his three children, Tammy Johnson, Regina Meyer and Kevin Woods; seven grandchildren, Jacquline McClelland, Katie, Michael and Bryce Woods, Zachary and Tyler Meyer and Andrew Hale; three great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Johnson, Dakota Woods and Jade Meyer; three stepchildren, Deanna Ballantine, Samatha Konieczny and Shera Zouck; one brother, James (Jim) Woods (Pat); and two sisters, Patricia McCurry and Glenda Crawford (Dan). He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Florene Noland, Lorene Noland, Thelma Noland Alford and Shirley Noland Lackey.
Bob was a kind, gentle soul, always working on someone's car, sometimes for no pay and taking in items for trade that were really of no value to him. He enjoyed farming and custom baling his neighbor's hay. He will always be the example of someone who would literally give the shirt off his back to help others in need. He will be missed by his family and friends.
