At the time of her passing she was 95 years, eight months, and 21 days of age.
Edith attended the Macedonia School and would often talk of the good times she had there. She also attended school in Buffalo after her family moved to town.
She was united in marriage to Jimmy Boro on April 9, 1943 in Buffalo, MO and to this union two children were born, Janice and Randall.
Edith was saved at the little Freewill Baptist Church on Main St. on October 11, 1952 and was baptized on October 26, 1952. Edith and Jimmy joined Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church on July 26, 1992 and were faithful members as long as their health permitted. Edith was always ready to witness for Jesus. She enjoyed gospel singings and going to revivals.
She loved being with her grandchildren and spoiling them. Edith also enjoyed going to yard sales, being with her family, and driving her little red car.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy; her parents; two brothers, Roscoe Chastain and Bert Chastain; and four sisters, Myrtle Smith, Essie Rice, Mable Scott, and Ruby Rice.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice & husband Jim Haines of Lebanon, MO and their two children, Jimmie & wife Michele Haines and Stephanie & husband Eric Stroup; her son, Randall & wife Juanita Boro and their three children, Kayla & husband Alex Mastroianni, Caleb & wife Mary Ann Boro, and Krista & husband Chase Mitchell; and 12 great-grandchildren with one more soon to be here. She also leaves other family members, her church family, and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Elliott officiating. Escorts were Jim Haines, Jimmie Haines, Eric Stroup, Caleb Boro, Alex Mastroianni, and Chase Mitchell.
