Randall Conrad Obituary

HAZLETON – Randy J. Conrad, 69, of Hazleton, Iowa, died on Friday morning, October 20, 2023, at his home.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with Rev. Rick Johnson officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, and for one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein, Iowa.

Randall James Conrad was born April 9, 1954, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Richard and Mary (Penney) Conrad. He was raised in Independence and Dundee and graduated from Independence High School. In his younger years, Randy was an avid bull rider, but his biggest joy was raising Brahman cattle. He was a certified artificial inseminator for Tri-State Breeders and a self-employed truck driver for all of his life. He trucked with his uncle, Bernard Downs, for many years. Randy was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved to travel to Texas and anywhere there was a rodeo.
Randy is survived by his Wife: Charla Nefzger of Hazleton; 10 Siblings: Rick (Mary) Conrad of Independence, Linda (Andy) Lyle of Hiawatha, Mark Conrad of Independence, Mike Conrad of Independence, Debra Lamasters of Waterloo, Tracy (Lori) Conrad of Independence, Terry (Renae) Conrad of Independence, Paul (Jean) Conrad of Corydon, Penny Hackert of Council Bluffs, and James Conrad of Independence; Many Nieces & Nephews; and three Sisters-In-Law: Dalyn (Dave) Corbin of Fayette, Trudy (Eric) Irwin of Plano, Texas, and &
Robyn Alsip Arce of McKinney, Texas.
Randy was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Penney; parents; and a sister: Karen Coonrad.
