Brian helped/ Mentored me when I was a westhampton beach H/S. student . His talent & knowledge shared in a kind & encouraging way. I only wish I had known he was in Burlington.
I could have thanked him again.

Here's to Brian. He was a good friend, a great musician, and a positive influence in my life. We parted ways a long time ago when The Cured broke up, but he was always remembered. I listen to the "Brian and Brad" album from time to time... it never gets old. The music in heaven will be just a little sweeter.

I met Brian in 1966 in Burlington/UVM. At the time he was playing and singing with Brad Sumner. Their music was a portent of the great things to come. Brian worked with Sly and The Family Stone with the band he and Brad formed. It was part of the magic that Brian brought to his music. He was a friend, a kind soul and will always be in my heart. I met Brian in 1966 when we were freshmen at UVM. He exposed me to lots of music new to me. We met regularly in the stereo room in the M.A.T. dorms. His voice—resinous, yet soft—was maybe the most pleasant I've ever heard.

I never knew Brian during his long musical & broadcasting career, but he spoke of it often. I worked with him, through the VNA, for not quite three years. In spite of his failing health, Brian rarely complained, and although a quiet man who seemed shy, made friends wherever he went. He was a kind soul with a wry sense of humor, & I was honored to be considered a friend.

I think his first band in Burlington was called "BULL" very funky R&B/Soul.
Then there was "Pyramid Moon", lot's of originals.
There was "The Casuals"-with Bob Merrill and Craig McNair.
And many many sideman gigs & sessions.
Brian could play it all & play it good.
Gonna miss him alot.

Sorry to read about Brian's passing. He was a real sweet guy- had a gentle soul about him! He played many times in my late husband's - Andy Shapiro - band.
Guess God just wanted to add Brian to "the band" in heaven...Andy, Big Joe......
