David Harold D'Avignon

Age: 75 • East Middlebury

David Harold D'Avignon 75, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at Porter Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born Jan. 23, 1941, in Weybridge, Vermont, the son of Joseph and Mary Rose (Shackett) D'Avignon. He attended school locally and later worked for his family at D'Avignon Garage/Weybridge Garage. He served in the United States Army. Mr. D'Avignon worked for many years as a foreman for Emilo Building Supplies. He enjoyed fishing, working in the garden and working on cars and lawn maintenance. He was a member of the Middlebury American Legion.

He is survived by his best friend, Ruth D'Avignon, children, Jeanine "Gina" D'Avignon, of Auburn, Maine, and David D'Avignon, of Gainesville, Florida; one grandson; a brother, James D'Avignon, of Weybridge; four sisters, Georgiana Bobar, of Springfield, Rita Armell, of Vergennes, Mary Dasler, of Hialeah, Florida, and Theresa Turner, of Poultney, Vermont; also by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers and sisters, Robert D'Avignon, Joseph D'Avignon, Theordore D'Avignon, Leonard D'Avignon, Peter D'Avignon, Louis D'Avignon, Francis D'Avignon, Clement D'Avignon, Doris Smith and Grace Shandrow, and son, Paul D'Avignon.

Services will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at the Middlebury American Legion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Middlebury American Legion. Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home. Online condolences at www.sandersonfuneralser vice.com.

To Dave's family I am very sorry for your loss.
Dave was a character. Work with Dave for a few years at Harvestore and got to be good friends.
We had a lot of fun together. I have a lot of good memorys. I haven't seen Dave for along time but am going to miss him.
