DAVID RIDEOUT Obituary

DAVID T. RIDEOUT SR. - MILTON - David T. Rideout Sr., 68, of Rollin Irish Road, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Monday, March 16, 2015, in the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, due to complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis. David was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Holyoke, Mass., the son of the late Earl and Madelaine Marrier Rideout. Following his graduation from high school, he served his country during the Vietnam War with the US Navy. On June 25, 1977, he married Lea M. Millette in Bolton. Together they resided in Bolton and South Burlington, prior to their move to Milton 30 years ago. David worked for several years at IBM, and left to open RIDE-A-BUCKS, a hunting and fishing store. After that venture, he found his passion in sales, calling on many of the same customers for the last 15 years. An avid outdoorsman, David loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors. He was a true RED SOX fan, as well as 49ers, Celtics, and NASCAR. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him, especially his wife, Lea of Milton; children, David Rideout Jr. and Melissa Roberts of Grand Isle, Angela Maple of Fairfax, Karrie Rich and husband, Timothy, of Georgia, and daughters in California, Tina and Lisa; his special brother-in-law, Thomas Millette; grandchildren, Madelaine Rideout, and Brayden and Ashlyn Rich, and his grandchildren in California; three sisters, Marylou and Michael Benoit of Colchester, Ruth and Alan Clark of Grand Isle, and Martha and Fred Benway of Colchester; and many friends too numerous to mention. David was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Patrick Rideout and Richard Rideout. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church, 41 Main St., in Milton, with Fr. John Feltz as celebrant. Military honors will be accorded David immediately following the Mass. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7, in Milton. At 8 p.m., Vigil Prayers will be offered by Fr. Feltz. The family would like to thank all the staff on ICU McClure 4 and Dr. David Reisman who treated David and his family like family. We will miss you RIDE-A-BUCK - Your loving Wife and Children. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division at the University of Vermont Medical Center at: UVM Medical Center Foundation, 111 Colchester Ave., 461OH4, Burlington, VT 05401. I was shocked to hear of Daves passing. he was such a likeable guy. Always said what was on his mind. I always knew whenever I was delivering to his house I would not be able to leave without talking about sports, hunting or just everyday life.I just planned it into my day. He was a great person that I was happy to say was a longtime friend. He will be truely missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Rideout family.

Angie and the rest of the family... I am so sorry for your loss, as someone who lost my daughter's father a few years ago, your world will never be the same, but the sadness will eventually be overcome by all the fond memories of your dad that you have. Love & Light.

To the family, my deepest condolences and thoughts and prayers are with you!

Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be, a resting place along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys and different paths along the way, we all were meant to learn some things but never meant to stay...Our destination is a place far greater than we know. For some the journey's quicker, for some the journey's slow but when the journey finally ends we'll claim a great reward and find an everlasting peace together with the lord!
