DOMINIC LADUE Obituary

DOMINIC PETER LADUE - GEORGIA, Vt. - Dominic Peter Ladue passed away on Sept. 22, 2011. Dominic was born on Aug. 1, 1962, in St. George to the late Richard Raymond Ladue and Judy Ann Ladue, formally of Monkton. Dominic began his career of driving taxi in 1986 at Benway's Taxi. Following his dream, he opened Ladue's Taxi in 1995, based out of Essex. It was here that Dominic raised his two children. He attended Burlington College for two years, obtaining his associate's degree in family law in 2003. Eight years later, Dominic and his family moved to Jericho. While driving taxi full-time and taking care of his family, Dominic joined the Underhill Jericho Fire Department. He often spent days and nights out serving his community, and still made time for his wife and children. When the family settled in Georgia, Vt. in 2006, Dominic created a small business selling homemade jellies. He began gardening, often giving the vegetables he had grown away to other families that needed it. In Sept. of 2009, Dominic was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He continued running his taxi business until June 2011. Although he could not continue to run his company, Dominic provided produce for his family, support to his children, and love for his wife. He became an active Tea Party member in 2010, running debates and appearing on radio talk shows. Dominic believed in preserving America's prosperity and protecting the lives and people of this country for generations to come. Dominic was a man who valued family above all else, always putting their needs before his own. He instilled his values of respect and generosity in his children. No matter what he was going through, Dominic made time for his family, smiled when he didn't want to and hugged them when it hurt. He was a fighter and a lover until the very end. Dominic was predeceased by his parents, Richard Ladue and Judy Ladue of Monkton. Dominic is survived by his wife, Cathy Ladue; his children, Shelbie Ladue and Dominic Ladue, Jr., all of Georgia, Vt.; his brothers, Frank Ladue and his wife, Candy, of Burlington, and Richard Ladue and his wife, Jennifer, of Underhill; his sisters, Theresa Ladue of Shelburne, and Marjorie Ladue of Aztec, N.M.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a ton of friends. We will all miss him terribly.
