RAYMOND W. BEGINS

RAYMOND W. BEGINS - ALBURGH - Raymond W. Begins, 66, of Alburgh, died peacefully with loving family at his side on Friday, July 11, 2014, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following a short illness. Raymond was born in Colchester on May 7, 1948, the son of Raymond and Marie (Francis) Begins. He served his country proudly for the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On Aug. 19, 1967, he married Cathleen (Chandler) Begins at St. Pius X in Essex Center. Raymond was formerly employed at Pike Paving, and owned and operated LaMarche's Quik Stop in Winooski, Begins Sunoco in Essex, and the Huntington Garage. He was a member of the Eagles Club, VFW, American Legion, and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes and bowling. Raymond is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cathy Begins; two daughters and their husbands, Christine and Francis "P.J." Jarvis, and Rae Anne and Kevin St. Pierre; grandchildren, David Bartlinski Jr., Francis Jarvis III, Dylan Begins, Michael Bruce, and Madison St. Pierre; one great-grandson, Seth Bartlinski; two special aunts and uncles, Judy and Bernie Fitzpatrick, and Phyllis and Winnie Howard; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Ricky Begins. Raymond's family wish to offer their sincere gratitude to the Veterans Administration doctors and nurses. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from noon to 2 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m., at the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St. in Winooski.
