Charles McDonald Obituary

Charles R. "Chuck" McDonald passed away on Tuesday from complications resulting from a fall.
Chuck was born on May 11, 1936, and was a son of the late Harold McDonald and the late Thelma Milheim McDonald.
After leaving the U.S. Navy in 1957, he worked at Armco for four years until he was able to join the Butler City Fire Department, which was his life's passion. Chuck served for 23 years and attained the rank of captain before retiring from the fire department in 1986.
He remained active in the fire community and could be seen helping at many of the local fires for years after his retirement.
He served as a PTA president, Sunday school teacher, church deacon, and president of the Beaver County Fireman's Association.
He loved his family and was actively involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren. Chuck's favorite pastimes included attending Southern gospel concerts, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, going to yard sales and hosting picnics for friends at Slippery Rock Campground.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Judith Moran McDonald of Butler, whom he married on June 10, 1961.
Other survivors include his daughter, Denise McDonald Kremmel of Cranberry and her husband, Bruce; his daughter, Rene McDonald Fizer and her husband, Col. Ron Fizer U.S. Army retired, of Springfield, Va.; and his son, Timothy McDonald and his wife, Judy, of Dry Fork, Va.
He leaves behind his grandchildren, Ed and Rachel Kremmel, Megan Yeo, and Lauren McDonald.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Dear Ms. Judith McDonald:
Though you don't know me but I have heard a lot about you from your wonderful daughter, Rene. With this note, I wanted to personally tell you that I do feel your pain and if I could, I would take all your grief in exchange for happiness for you always. You are a very brave woman as I understand from Rene and I am sure that God will always look over you and your wonderful family that you have raised. I'm truly very sorry for your loss. I never wanted to make your acquaintance in such circumstances but then life has taught me that there is never a good or a bad time. Again, my family and I salute your late husband for his service and you for being a great wife and a wonderful mother.
Best Wishes Always,
On behalf of the Sankaran's

To the McDonald Family, I was a member of the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. I would visit Chuck often at the Central Fire Station. During that time Chuck was driver on the Ladder Truck. He was a great friend and dedicated fire fighter. He will always be remembered and greatly missed.
