George Hazlet Obituary
Born on Dec. 5, 1939, in Pittsburgh, George was the son of the late George Alexander Hazlet and the late Florance Isabel (Bryan) Hazlet.
George worked as an equipment operator for Adobe Mining, where he was known as "Plowboy." He was also a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church, where he served as trustee and elder. He also was a member of the Angus Association, the B.Q.A., and was a previous 10-year president of the North Eastern Walking Horse Association.
George is survived by two daughters, Tracy (Glenn) Hedrick of Marienville and Wendy (Douglas) Protzman of West Sunbury; one daughter-in-law, Amy Hazlet of Worthington; one son-in-law, John Kozakovsky of Seneca; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Glen (Nancy) Hazlet of Butler.
George was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patricia L. Hiles Hazlet, whom he married on March 4, 1960, and who passed away Jan. 12, 2016; one daughter, Sherry; and one son, Jeff.
HAZLET - Family and friends of George A. "Gerry" Hazlet Jr., who died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, with the Rev. Bob Edmundson officiating.
Private interment will be held in Concord Cemetery.
