Jeffrey Strange Obituary

A beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Jeffrey Alan Strange, 48, peacefully left his life on Earth Wednesday after courageously battling brain cancer for the past 4½ years.
Jeff was born March 8, 1969, at Grove City Hospital.
He graduated from Slippery Rock Area High School in 1987 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1992.
He devoted his life to his family and his work at Piedmont Crane and Strange Contracting.
Jeff was the beloved husband of Juanita L. (McMurdy) Strange whom he married Sept. 26, 1998; proud and loving father of Tanner Chase Strange, 17, and Brent Allen Strange, 15; devoted son of James L. Strange and Barbara Sue Strange; cherished brother and friend of James Steven Strange and Amy Suzette Upton; respected son-in-law of Patrick and Vanessa Carr; adored brother-in-law to Ron, Kay, Stephanie, Heather and Nick; and treasured uncle to Tyler, Jordan, Madison, Jacob, Paige and Presley.
He enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, shooting pool, playing poker and fireworks. He also followed NASCAR and the Pittsburgh sports teams.
He had held the position of treasurer for Boy Scout Troop 81, which his sons are members. Also, he had attended Center Presbyterian Church in Grove City.
Jeff's family and friends will remember him for the hardworking, outgoing, generous, fearless, talkative, humorous, high-spirited and independent person that we all loved so much. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
STRANGE - The family of Jeffrey Alan Strange, who died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Pastor Bill Woodman from Center Presbyterian Church in Grove City will officiate.

I have great memories of him growing up with our kids. To say the least, he was a funny and spirited child. He kept our Cub Scout troop "moving along" at a rapid pace.
