Lois Fillgrove Obituary

Lois Marguerite Johnston Fillgrove
Lois Marguerite Johnston Fillgrove, 91, of Cabot passed away Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit of Concordia.
She was born May 13, 1921, in Piney Township, Sligo, and was the daughter of the late James A. and Marie (Burns) Johnston.
Lois was a devoted mother, sister and grandmother, offering her time in many community functions. She was a member of the Callensburg United Methodist Church for more than 70 years and a member of the Callensburg Fire Company. She was a past matron and member of the Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years and belonged to the Pennsylvania State Association of Retirees.
Lois graduated from Sligo High School in 1939. She retired from the Keystone School District where she worked in the cafeteria for 27 years.
She loved her family and many friends.
Surviving are a son, William "Bill" (Shirley) Fillgrove of Butler; two grandchildren, Meghan L. (Bryan) Schnur of Brunswick, Md., and Deborah L. Urban of Roaring Branch, Pa.; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanne Laughlin of New Bethlehem.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M. Dwight Fillgrove, two brothers and three sisters.
FILLGROVE - Friends of Lois Marguerite Johnston Fillgrove who passed away, Saturday, June 23, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Callensburg Methodist Church, Callensburg, PA.
