Richard Callihan Obituary

Richard L. "Dick" Callihan, 73, of Chicora, passed away Tuesday morning at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Richard was born Oct. 15, 1941, in Chicora. He was the son of the late Paul J. "Sam" and Gertrude R. "Tootie" Callihan.
He was a 1960 graduate of Karns City High School. Mr. Callihan was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in "A" Battery, 2nd Howitzer Battalion, 34th Artillery; he served in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He retired in 2005 following 40 years of employment. His interests were antique cars and Civil War history.
Dick was a member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora and the Altar Rosary Society.
He is survived by his wife, Judy K. Flick Callihan, who he married Aug. 31, 1963, at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.
Also surviving is his son, Matthew B. Callihan and his wife, Darlene, of Butler; his daughter, Dr. Beth Ann Callihan Ricci and her husband, Dr. Armando Ricci, of Erie; his granddaughter, Olivia E. Ricci of Erie; his step-grandson, Michael Graham and his wife, Cortney, of Butler; his stepgranddaughters, Jessica Stack and her husband, Ryan, of Greensburg and Allison Mortimer and her husband, Michael, of Butler; his step-great-grandson, Nolan Graham; five brothers, Paul Callihan and his wife Brenda, Sidney Callihan and his wife Elaine, Bernard Callihan, John Callihan and his wife Donna, all of Chicora, and Michael Callihan and his wife Donna, of East Brady; his sister, Joan Ball of Greece City; his sister-in-law, Lois Callihan of Butler; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Flick of Butler; his brother-in-law, Joseph Flick and his wife Linda, of Brockway; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Callihan, his brother-in-law, Robert Ball, and one niece.
CALLIHAN - Friends of Richard L. "Dick" Callihan, who died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Richard Thompson, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
The 99th Readiness Command will present the flag. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and a vigil prayer service will be at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Judy and family, so sorry to hear of Dicks passing. He was a great cousin. Even though we didn't see each other often, he always would make a point to talk to me.
