Roberta Tritch Obituary

Roberta "Bobbi" K. Tritch, 70, of Butler died Tuesday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was the daughter of Robert K. and Mary Oprendek Hornfeck of West Sunbury.
Roberta was a business teacher and then a guidance counselor at Mars High School until her retirement in 2006. During her tenure at Mars, she also was student assistance coordinator for the district.
Roberta graduated with a bachelor's degree in business education from Grove City College and with a master's degree in secondary counseling from Slippery Rock University. She also taught business classes at Butler County Community College's evening division for several years. Before becoming an educator, Roberta had worked as an engineering secretary at Kaiser Engineers in Butler.
After her retirement, she volunteered at Meals on Wheels and at Butler County Community College tutoring GED students, and she was an active participant in Slippery Rock University's Learning In Retirement Program.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy, who she married in 1973; and two sons, Kevin Tritch and his wife, Kathryn, and their son, Corbin, 2, of Kirkland Washington, and Eric Tritch and his wife, Mia, and their children, Vera, 4, Mara, 2, and Lola, an infant, of LaGrange Park, Ill.
She also is survived by one sister, Mary Jo Schmitt, and her husband, Tim, of West Sunbury.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Roberta was an amazing, caring and loving mother, grandmother and role model.
She and her husband were members of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, and over the years Roberta had volunteered in teen religious education programs at Butler Catholic School.
Roberta loved theater and at various times in her life was active in the Butler Little Theatre.
Having grown up on a farm in West Sunbury, she never lost her love of nature and animals.
Her past interests and hobbies included reading, traveling, gardening, horseback riding, golf, tennis and outdoor activities in general. But most of all, she loved her husband, her sons and their wives, and, of course, her grandchildren.
