Annitta Mardee Castellow passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
She was born on December 21, 1935 in San Saba, Texas to Eda Frances and Fuller C. Thorpe.
Annitta was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to many. She graduated from Texas A & I University in Kingsville in 1957 with her Bachelors in Education. She taught in the Alice Independent School District. She was a member of West Shore Baptist Church and was a Sunday School Teacher for the church. She was also a member of the Alice Garden Club and The Daughters of the American Revolution. An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, cooking, shopping, reading and she was an avid bridge player.
Annitta leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, Charles Castellow, Sr.; three children, Janie Castellow of Lake Corpus Christi, Cindy Castellow of Houston, and Tommy (Genny) Castellow of Lake Corpus Christi; one sister, JoNan (Joe) Wray of Lake Corpus Christi and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at West Shore Baptist Church, 150 FM 534 Sandia, Texas with Pastor Michael Colton officiating. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Alice Cemetery in Alice.
