Bill Foran has passed away. Husband, brother, father and Landman, he finally succumbed to a five-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Bill was from Corpus Christi where he indelibly made his mark in business and in pleasure. Dozens of petroleum industry professionals were guided or influenced by Bill.
The freewheeling way he made some of his oil and gas deals are legendary and are still a source of affectionate fodder at many South Texas watering holes. Bill met Sylvia Sarphie Foran, his wife of over fifty years, in Corpus and raised his family there. In early 2000, Bill and Sylvia moved to New Braunfels where he once again left his mark in the community. He loved this part of the Hill County, the ski areas of Colorado, cantinas in Nuevo Laredo, and his family.
Bill is survived by his wife; his sisters: Mary Gwen Brummitt, Claire Kobluk, and Peggy DeVilbiss; and his sons, Michael and Eric.
There are too many people to list whom the family owes so much thanks for their help during Bill's last years, but Lynn and Eric Schubert have been and continue to be very special to us. As an expression of sympathy, Bill would have asked that friends contribute to any organization whose aim is the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
Following a private Memorial Service, we invite friends to gather at Bill and Sylvia's home from 12 to 3 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017. We are all fortunate to have been under the giant shadow Bill cast. This man chewed life up and we are better people because of him. AMF.
