Carl Reupke Obituary

REUPKE Carl Robert 'Bob' Reupke passed away August 5, 2011, after a long battle with pulmonary disease. Born in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 10, 1934, he moved to Texas with his family in 1945. After a short time in Marshall, Bob lived the rest of his life in Corpus Christi, graduating from W.B. Ray High School in 1952, and working his entire adult life for Reynolds Metals Company in Ingleside. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting, and was a member of the Corpus Christi Pistol and Rifle Club. After retirement from Reynolds, Bob developed an interest in antique car restoration, working hours on end restoring his beloved 1934 Ford 5 Window Coupe to pristine condition, and became a popular member of the Coastal A's and Rods Car Club. As nicknamed by his family and close friends, 'Big' had a mischievous smile, sly sense of humor, a great laugh, and never met a country karaoke song he didn't like. He had many great long-time friends who provided him enjoyment and comfort over the last few difficult years. We will truly miss him. Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patsy Magers Reupke, sisters Rosemary Floyd (John) of Corpus Christi and Janice Tegland (Edward) of Parker, Colorado; three sons and their spouses, Richard (Paige) Reupke of Frisco, Texas, Steve (Julie) Reupke of Corpus Christi and John (Marilee) Reupke of Spring, Texas; and two granddaughters, Rachel Reupke Simpson and Shannon Reupke. A private family memorial will be held. In Bob's memory and at his request, donations may be made to the Coastal Conservation Association of Texas, or P.A.L.S of Corpus Christi.
