Debra McDonald Obituary

Debra Kay "Sissy" McDonald went to be with our Lord on August 1, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer, she was surrounded by her loved ones. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.Born in San Angelo, Texas on October 23, 1953, she leaves behind the love of her life, Robert Jarrett of Beeville, Texas; daughter, Tracy Kay (Sean) Calley; her grandson and pride and joy, Hunter all of Corpus Christi, Texas; mother, Jo Etta Eubanks of Mathis, Texas; sister, Dr. Bobbie Jo Meyer of Beeville, Texas; brother, Bruce McDonald of Dinero, Texas; niece, Keri Garza of Laredo, Texas; nephew, Price Meyer of Beeville, Texas; as well as many other family and friends.She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Ray McDonald, and her nephew, Noland Ray McDonald both of San Angelo, Texas.She was born and raised in San Angelo, Texas. Attended school there, and moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1968. In 1972 she graduated from Ray High School. She worked for Central Power & Light Company and Jobber's Warehouse. In 1994, she moved to Beeville, Texas and was a dental assistant and homemaker. "Sissy" was an avid chili cooker and won several area chili cook-offs, while attaining enough points one year to compete at Terlingua. She will always be admired for her love to animals and her tender heart to care for them. She also loved plants and gardening.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel with Rev. Ben Drewry officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas.In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in her honor may be made to your local Animal Shelter. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Robert for his loving care and devotion to Debra in her final year. We would also like to thank Dr. Salloum and his staff for their help and guidance through this time. We would also like to thank Exclusive Hospice and Home Health, especially Sherri Cortez for all her help.
