Elisa Fonseca Obituary

Elisa "Licha" Garza Fonseca, age 74, ended her battle with bone cancer peacefully on the morning of Saturday, October 6, 2007 at her home with her family outside of Mathis, Texas. She was born October 17, 1932 in Tynan, Texas to the late Joaquin and San Juanita Garza. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her sister, Adela Gonzales and brothers, Andres and Alfredo Garza. Elisa is survived by her husband of 51 years; Ramon Fonseca of Mathis. She is also survived by her seven loving children: Ramiro and partner Fred Carnell; Theresa "Teri" (Rodney) Aust; Ramon, Jr.; Ruben; Florentino "Tino" (Josie) Martin and Orlando. She loved her beautiful eleven grandchildren: Greg and John Paul Sosa, James and Joseph Aust, Mason, Chase, Elyse, Chelse, Christian, Diego and Adrian Fonseca. She is also survived by her brothers: Manuel, Agustin and Adolfo Garza and sisters: Delfina Deanda and Amelia Garcia. Elisa was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Her love for family will live on through her children and grandchildren. The family extends their sincere thanks and gratitude to her caregiver, Nora Bishop; the staff at Christus Spohn Cancer Center and Vista Care Hospice. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 4:00 p.m., at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be that same evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis. Interment will follow in Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis. DOBIE FUNERAL HOME 121 N.
