Erwin E. Becker

Erwin E. BeckerCorpus Christi, TXErwin E. Becker, age 95, went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2015 in Corpus Christi Texas. Erwin was born on October 28, 1919, in Thorndale, Texas to George and Frieda Becker. He grew up in rural surroundings, working the family farm with his 8 siblings until the late 1930s. During the Second World War, Erwin served in the U.S. Army Air Force and was discharged in 1946. He married Elizabeth Stone ( who preceded him in death) in 1948 and settled in Corpus Christi, Texas where he has resided since. Erwin was active at Trinity Lutheran Church for nearly 70 years, and was noted for his volunteer work at a diverse set of institutions in the Coastal Bend such as the Seaman's Center, the Texas State Aquarium, the Bonsai Club, the USS Lexington, and the Audubon Outdoor Club - bird watching was a passion for him.He has two surviving children, Russell Becker of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and Paula Becker of Montreal, Quebec. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Samantha Becker in College Station, Texas; as well as long-time friend, Nina Kerrigan.A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
