Estela Gaona Obituary

GAONA Mrs. Estela D. Gaona, born August 20, 1923 in Laredo, Texas, entered the kingdom of heaven in Austin, Texas surrounded by family on October 31, 2009 at the age of 86. Having a generous heart and wanting to help others, she always enjoyed volunteering. She will be remembered for her love and generosity and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.She is preceded in death by her parents Celestino and Genoveva Davila, brothers Eduardo, Roberto, and Enrique Davila. Mrs. Gaona is survived by her siblings, Pioquinto, Raul, and Rodolfo Davila, Ester Hill, Josephine Burdette and Beatrice Davila; her children, Edmundo and Julian Gaona, Beatriz Cadena, and Teresa Bliss; her grandchildren, Nelda Cadena, Andrea Garcia, David and Jennifer Gaona, Elizabeth, Kevin, & Tessa Bliss, Juliana and Julian Gaona; her great grandson Eli Ortiz, and many, many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 555 E Del Mar Blvd, Laredo, Texas at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Alessandro DiTaddeo will be the celebrant. A rosary will be recited by the family at the church prior to the service.Interment will follow at the family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 3424 Rojo Street, Corpus Christi TX 78415 or to the Greenwood Senior Citizen Center, 4040 Greenwood Drive, Corpus Christi TX 78416.The family has entrusted the arrangements to the funeral service professionals at Joe Jackson Heights, 719 Loring at Cortez, Laredo, TX 78040, (956) 722-0001
