Judson Howard Palmer was born on August 10, 1918 in Erie, PA and died on Monday, May 29, 2017 in Corpus Christi, TX where he made his home with his son Dave and wife Sally for the last 18 years.
He lived a long and wonderful life in Pennsylvania for 80 years surviving his wife Vi, who died in 1987, and second wife Alisa, who died in 2000. Jud worked at General Electric in the locomotive departments in Erie, Pa for 41 years before retiring in 1981.
Survivors include his son Dave (wife Sally), 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by his late son John's wife Donna (John died in an auto accident in 1987), cousin Emil Belcastro (wife Carole), (Jud thought of Emil as another son), and a niece Lois Chaplin. He is also survived by 3 brothers in California, and predeceased by another.
Up until the last couple of years, Jud drove himself the .7 of a mile to Caribbean Baptist Church on Sunday mornings. He was a happy person, easy to get along with, and appreciated all that was done for him. His family is so happy to have had him in their lives for the past 18 years and will miss him daily.
Services will be in Waterford, PA on Friday, June 2. Arrangements by Van Matre Funeral Home, www.vanmatrefuneralhome.com.
