FITZGERALD Mary Elizabeth Hawkins FitzGerald passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008. She was born on April 28, 1918 to Charles P. and Mary Bell Duffy Hawkins and raised in Ash Grove, MO. She married her husband of 45 years, Dr. Thomas FitzGerald on June 15, 1944. She graduated from Ash Grove High School in 1936 and then went on to get her Registered Nurses Degree from Stevens College. Mary was a loving and giving mother. She enjoyed participation in the Corpus Christi Medical Auxiliary, St. Pius X Alter and Rosary Society and the Lamar Park Garden Club. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, fun & travel. She had an immense devotion to her family. She loved gardening, cooking, and sewing. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas F. FitzGerald; parents, C.P. and Mary Bell Hawkins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Eulah Hawkins and Charles Hawkins and Duffy and Ghislaine Hawkins; her grandson, FitzGerald E. Wetegrove; nephews, Andrew Hawkins and Dallas Hawkins. Mary is survived by her children, Mary Pat (Philip) Hall, Elizabeth Ann (Charles) Wetegrove, Kathleen Marie (Hank) Ellsworth; grandchildren, Erin (Sonia) Hall, Devon (Heather) Hall, Alissa Hall, Canton Hall, Gwyn (Chris) Richter, Tommy Wetegrove, Preston (Ashley) Ley, Kirsten Ley, and Winston Ley; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Conner and Caroline Hall, Christopher, Madalyn and Morgan Richter, and Jean Hawkins and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ben Groner, Sr. Margaret Mannion, Josh Taft, Arthur Haas, John Romando, Maxine Sommers. Honorary pallbearers, Charlotte and Bill Fant, Dr. Pat Moran, and Armand Mathew, OMI. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Diaz Calderon, Dr. Robert Lewis, Dr. Pat Moran, Dr. E. Ben Groner, Sr. Margaret Mannian and the wonderful nurses and staff of Spohn and Dubuis hospitals. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Spohn Hospital or a
