Travis Shoup Obituary

SHOUP Mathis, TexasTravis J. Shoup passed away January 23, 2010. He was born to Herbert and Blanch Shoup in Marlin, Texas on March 11, 1927. At an early age the family moved to Nacogdoches, Texas where he was raised. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from Texas Tech University as well as Sam Houston State. Mr. Shoup worked as a chemist for Champlin Refining Company retiring after 34 years of service. He moved to George West in 1985 from Corpus Christi, where he enjoyed his cows, huge garden and fishing. Nothing gave him more pleasure than cooking fish for his friends. He moved to Mathis in 2000 and resided there until his passing.Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Dobie Funeral Home.Mr. Shoup is survived by his wife, Jimmie of Mathis.Per Mr. Shoup's request no funeral services will be held.Arrangements are entrusted to: DOBIE FUNERAL HOME 121 N.
