James Burnett Obituary
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Burnett was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Milam County to Arthur Lenwood and Ruth Drury Burnett. He married Evelyn Mae Klapka on Sept. 2, 1954, and she preceded him in death in 2018.
Mr. Burnett was a U. S. Army Veteran and had worked for Alcoa for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He is survived by: son, Larry Burnett of Marshall; daughter, Joyce Fritz of Cameron; and grandchildren, Clayton Burnett of College Station, Luke Fritz of Cameron, and Kelsey Fritz of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
