In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
Alice was my sister-in-law and sister-in-Christ, since 1956. She always had a smile and good words for me and my family. Many memories of family get together's. Love, Donna

My memories of Mrs McCurdy start early in my childhood. As a child she was a kind, friendly neighbor; in school she was my teacher in 9th grade. Oh how she loved to laugh! You learned so much in her class, yet learning was fun! In the summer she and Mr McCurdy were often on the front porch reading a newspaper or a book, enjoying the evening. You were most welcome to pop by and talk. When I visited my parents, I would stop to say hi. I am saddened by the loss, yet thankfull for many wonderful memories. Dennis, Ellen, and Mr McCurdy; I will keep you in my prayers.

Mrs. McCurdy was my supervising teacher when I did my student teaching at Souers in 1966. I learned so much from her. I will always remember her bringing my entire third period class to my wedding in August of 1966(all boys).
She will always be with me in my memories. So much of what she taught me was in my lessons and was passed on to my students at Massillon. She was the ultimate teacher. I admired her so very much.

Alice will truly be missed by all. She was an influence in so many others lives. I wasn't quite old enough to have had the pleasure of having her as a teacher at Souers, but I was honored with the pleasure of becoming her neighbor. She had a wonderful soul for conversation and I loved spending time listening to her talk.
Dear Mac and family, please accept our deepest sympathies, and know we are here for you.

Alice McCurdy was a wonderful person. I had the privilege of knowing her through our teaching at Souers Jr. High. I especially enjoyed her poems, and I still have some of them. We were also Delta Kappa Gamma sisters. She will always be remembered as a great teacher and friend. My sympathy to Mac and the family.

Mrs. McCurdy was one of my favorite teachers at Souers Jr. High back in 1970. To the family...it will be the memories of her that will help you get through this time.

Alice McCurdy was my favorite teacher. She instilled in me a love for literature, theatre and public speaking. Her classroom was a joyful place- learning an exciting thing. Much of what she taught me was not in her lesson plan but in her example. I am so glad that God allowed me one last conversation with Mrs. McCurdy a few months ago. It gave me the opportunity to tell her what she had meant to me.
