Alice Oravetz Obituary

Alice Mae (Lab) Oravetz

age 92, died Saturday. Born in Bolivar, she had lived in Canton most of her life. She was a graduate of the Massillon City Hospital School of Nursing and retired as a Registered Nurse in 1988 from Timken Mercy Medical Center. Alice was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church where she was past-president of the Altar and Rosary Society and volunteered at funeral dinners. She enjoyed card club and took pride in caring for her family. Preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Oravetz, great-grandson, Benjamin Richards, sisters, Margaret Tabellion and Janie Jennings and brothers, Paul and Bill Lab. Survived by her daughters, Mary (Jeff) Raper, Betty Howes and Karen (Ted) Laubacher, sons, Max (Chira) Oravetz, Paul (Deborah) Oravetz and John Oravetz, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters, Isabelle Reicosky, Kathleen Crum, Clara Young and Louise (Michael) Osburn and brother, David Lab. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church with Father Leo Wehrlin as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home and Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church.
