Cornel Muntean Obituary
Age 58, of Jackson Twp., passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 13, 2013 after a short and unexpected illness. He was born in Canton on April 3, 1955 to the late John and Lucretia (Barson) Muntean. He was the former owner and operator of Muntean Heating and Cooling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene, Paul, Emil, Johnny, and Patrick; and sisters, Christina Jo and Niki Kisha.
Cornel is survived by his brothers, Virgil (Genevieve) Muntean, David (Shirley) Muntean; sisters, Julie (Lowell) Whieland, and Pauline (Dennis) Randolph; and many nieces and nephews. Cornel's extended family include the companion and love of his life, Claudia Jeffers Goerke and her two adult children, Geoff (Abby) Goerke and Jennifer Goerke who loved him very much. Claudia's mother, Helen Jeffers Neff; Dr. Gary (Nancy) Jeffers, Dr. Dennis (Nancy) Jeffers, Susan Jeffers (Glen McGaha) Omspacker, Kathy (Frank Mariano) Jeffers Sovik; other family members, Grey Goerke and Tom Omspacker; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and cousins. Cornel was loved by so many, including a plethora of steadfast caring and loving longtime friends and musicians. Cornel was called home to play in "God's Symphony". He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Cornel's life will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Claudia's home beginning at 2 p.m. Donations may be made in Cornel's name to Spay Neuter Assistance Program-SNAP of NE OHIO (Formerly Animal Protection Guild), 3124 9th St. SW, Canton, OH 44710.

"THE CORN MAN"
There is so much we could all say about Corn. The man just loved to live life and have a blast. He never had a lot to give ,but he would give you his last $5 and the shirt off his back to any one who needed it. Cornel has been a friend of the Piesciuk Family for 30 plus years, and will be very deeply missed. We are so happy that Corn found Claudia to love and spend the last years of his life with. True love is hard to find and he found it in Claudia. what a strong women.

My heart goes out to Claudia and Family. Corney was truely a very special person, such a free spirit. He always had a smile, a kind word aand was willing to help in any way he could. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, and especially the Harper family. Our love and prayers go with him and his extended family.

You have my condolences. Corny used to come to my house when he was younger and knew my children. He also did some furnace work for me. I haven't seen him in quite some time but I am really sorry to read this.

As I read this obituary I still find it hard to believe he is gone. Everyone who knew Corn knows he was so special. One of a kind. He loved Claudia with everything he had and her him. Claudia he is for sure your Guardian Angel now. Love and prayers to the entire family.
