Dear Connie Kay, I knew your Dad, David, in the early '70s. I recently learned of his passing and it is with great sorrow that I write this. He was a warm, giving man with a ready smile and that sparkle in his eye when he was happiest. I remember asking him what was the secret to his wonderful pasta sauce and he told me a little grated carrot. Also, he loved Cherokee, NC and the outdoors. He was a hard worker and a good friend to all. David was a very sweet man and I had hoped he would live a long, healthy, and happy life. He and you Mom had you and that indeed would have made him incredibly happy in his life. I am so sorry for the loss of your parents so young in your life. I wish you peace and wisdom and pray that the path you have had to walk has been tempered with kindness, love, and the knowledge that you do not walk alone and that when you thought you did; that is when HE carried you. Honor David and your Mom by being the person they knew you were destined to be and be kind to yourself.

Connie, I am so sorry you had to lose your dad. You were the world to him as he often spoke of you. He teared as he told me the story about the Indian blessing your mom so you were born. He worried so for your future. Know that he is always with you, in your heart! I'm sorry I wasn't there-I didn't know.

Connie Kay,

Words alone cannot express our deep sympathy for you at this time. Your father, and mother were both so very proud of you and when we think of them our first thought is of the enormous amount of Love that they have for you. Our prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
