David Eley Obituary
Of La Cueva NM, formerly of Uniontown, OH passed away in the Jemez Mountains near La Cueva. David was born February 21, 1959 in Canton, OH. He was a graduate of Lake High School, Stark Technical Institute, and the University of New Mexico. David was interested in film making and made several short films utilizing his family as actors. In 1982, he relocated to Albuquerque, NM to work for Sandia National Laboratories and later as a contractor for Los Alamos National Laboratories. While living in New Mexico, David developed a love of the outdoors and became an avid camping and backpacking enthusiast. His favorite area for camping and backpacking was the Jemez Mountains region of New Mexico. He also pursued his interest in film making and made several short films and documentaries.
David was preceded in death by his infant sister, Annette. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Maxine Eley; brothers, Richard (Sue), James, and Douglas (Debbie); sister, Vicki (Greg) Lotz; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown on Saturday, August 29, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Butch Pursley officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour before the service. Burial Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery.
