David Leasure Obituary
age 65, of Canton, passed away, unexpectedly, on his birthday, Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014. He was born in Canton Ohio and was a 1967 graduate of North Canton Hoover High School. David went on to serve with the Seabees in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed with Republic Steel for 30 years, retiring in 2011. He was a member of Steel Workers Union Local #1200 and #1124. David will be deeply missed and never forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Leasure and an infant brother, Jeffrey Leasure.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Betty Leasure; daughter, Christine (Jeff) Gfeller; son, Matt (Melissa Riffle) Leasure; two brothers, Bruce and Larry Leasure of Berkley, Calif.; and his best friend, Chuck (Linda) Clauser.
There will be no calling hours and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in his name, to the Lupus Foundation of Greater Ohio, 12930 Chippewa Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 or to Meals on Wheels, 7707 Market Ave. N., North Canton, OH 44721. Thoughts & Prayers to the family. Grew up next door to the fine Leasure family. Sure had good times playing baseball, army, cards, and all the games kids played back then. Thank you for all the wonderful memories.
