Jack Vick Obituary
age 77 went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Aultman Hospital where he was surrounded and cared for by his loving family. Son of Ed and Dorothy (Brown) Vick. He was a lifelong resident of Louisville and a 1952 graduate of Louisville High School. A former employee of Republic Steel; Berger Division where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, an avid sports enthusiast and fan. He loved the Louisville Leopards, Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Browns. Jack was active in sports such as softball, bowling, and golf for many years. Also a little league coach, and great participant and supporter of Louisville wrestling youths for many years. He was a member of Louisville Eagles, and American Legion Post #44.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ed; mother, Dorothy; and his brother, Jim. He is survived by his wife, Emma of 50 years; sons, Shelton (Chrissy) Vick, Allen Vick, all of Canton, Christopher (Paula) Vick, Darwin (Christine) Vick, all of Louisville; his most treasured posessions, his 10 grandchildren, Bob, Matt, Ashley, Ryan, Kordell, Colton, Michala, Marshall, Marissa, and Jamie; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Talon, and C.J.; his brothers, Dale, Harry, and Terry Vick; stepbrother, Ron Yohe; also his extended family, Cathy and Jeff Cunningham of Coshocton. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to his MICU nurse Kyle and Dr. Pansino.
Calling hours will be from 4-6 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Stier-Israel Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. following calling hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
