David Alan Doan, born on November 20, 1961, passed away leaving behind a legacy of hard work, curiosity, loyalty, and deep love for his family. David was a man whose life was defined not only by where he went and what he built, but by the quiet strength, humor, and passion he carried with him every day.
David was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Nadyne Doan and Vernon Doan, who raised him with strong values that shaped the man he became. He was also preceded in death by his brother Steve Doan and his sister Deborah Doan-Bloom, all of whom held an enduring place in his heart.
He is survived by his loving brothers, Jeffery Doan and Jimmy Doan, with whom he shared a lifelong bond built on family, shared memories, and unwavering support. Above all else, David was a father to his three sons: Matthew Doan (Amanda), Josh Doan, and David Doan.
David was a deeply proud grandfather to Adrianna (14) and Owen (6), whom he absolutely adored. His face lit up when talking about them, and he cherished every moment he spent watching them grow, laugh, and discover the world. Being their "Papa" was one of the greatest joys of his life.
A graduate of Louisville High School, David went on to build a remarkable career, working for over 30 years at Redicon/Stolle Machinery. His dedication, skill, and reliability earned him the respect of colleagues around the world. Through his work, David had the opportunity to travel extensively, experiencing many different countries and cultures. These travels broadened his perspective and gave him countless stories-each reflecting his curiosity and appreciation for how others lived and worked.
David was a man of many talents and interests. He had a lifelong love for engines and speed, especially his cherished 1972 Mustang, which he took great pride in. He enjoyed NHRA, NASCAR, and anything mechanical, always eager to talk horsepower, design, or the thrill of a great race. When he wasn't working on or admiring engines, David found peace and satisfaction in woodworking, where his patience and craftsmanship came to life.
He also enjoyed playing Frisbee, and many were delighted (and impressed) to learn that David could ride a unicycle-a perfect reflection of his fun-loving side and willingness to try something different simply for the joy of it.
David was steady, thoughtful, and dependable-the kind of man who showed up, followed through, and never stopped learning. He lived with integrity, loved fiercely, and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A Funeral Service honoring David Alan Doan will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home. Friends and family may call on the family the same day from 10:00 a.m. until noon, prior to the service.
Though he will be deeply missed, David's life lives on through his family, his work, and the many memories he created across a lifetime well lived. His legacy is one of love, perseverance, curiosity, and pride in family-values that will continue to guide those he leaves behind.
May he rest in peace, reunited with those who went before him, and forever remembered by those who loved him most.
