Jane Lab Obituary
Age 72, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 after an extended illness. Mrs. Lab was born July 2, 1938 in Canton, Ohio, to the late Helen Kolasa Garrett Espenschied and George Garrett. She retired from the Philomatheon Society of the Blind in Canton, Ohio. Prior to moving to Myrtle Beach, she was employed as a manager of Friendship Village in Massillon, Ohio. She enjoyed reading, scrap booking, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Lab is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard (Dick) Lab, Sr. of Myrtle Beach; three children, Richard (Rick) Lab, Jr., Lori Lab Summers from Myrtle Beach and Michael Lab and his wife, Chris of Canton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice (Beadie) Prater from Canton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Burial will follow at Ocean Woods cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. An online guestbook is available at:

Dick and family~I am so sorry and sad of Janie's passing.It was time for her to go home to be with the Lord and no more suffering. I have many fond memories. I will surely miss her. I was sorry to read about Jane's passing. I am sorry we never got to see each other after we both moved out of Canton. I will remember her smiling face, love of her family and our many talks on Execter Av. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

When I got your message today, I was heartbroken. I've been sitting here thinking back on the years we have known you and Ms. Jane, sitting here remembering all the stories you told me,of you and her. The love you two shared is a great love story and an inspiration to all who knew you. Jody and I feel truly blessed to have had the honor of knowing Ms. Jane, we love her and we love you. Dick, so sorry to hear about your loss. Although we did not get to spend that much time together, Jackie and I enjoyed those moments and remember her as a very friendly,happy,and fun loving person. Sorry to hear of Jane's passing. I remember back to the early years of my insurance business all the times we sat around the dining room table and talking about many different things. I miss you Grandma and love you so much. God needed you, so I can't cry anymore. Besides, you always told me to be strong and I know you'd be upset with me if you knew I was crying over you.
