Jean Armstrong Obituary

Jean Armstrong
went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, Jan. 4, 2012. Jean was born Sept. 2, 1935 in Canton, Ohio to Mr. William Powell, Sr. and Mrs. Lenora Powell Goins. Jean was a loving, caring, and giving Christian woman who loved the Lord and everyone around her. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Parthenia and her two sons, William and Terry. Jean was a member of Sherrick Road Church of God. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Powell; her brother, William Powell, Jr.; and a great-grandson, William H. Armstrong. A special aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Parthenia Armstrong of Massillon, Ohio, William Armstrong of Massillon, Ohio, Terry Armstrong of Covington, Ky.; two loving sisters, Movita (Wesley) Walters of Canton, Ohio, Sandra (Ira) Turpin of Bowie, Md.; five grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson, Tracey Brightwell, Toby Armstrong, Shaufauntae Armstrong, and Serena Armstrong; five great-grandchildren; special dear cousins, Marie Long, Gilbert (Florence) Williams; two devoted daughters-in-law, Kimberly Armstrong and Michelle McEwen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Sherrick Road Church of God, 1121 Sherrick Road SE, Canton, Ohio, Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 with Pastor Michael T. Lemon officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Massillon, Ohio. Services will be at 11 a.m. and visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service.
