Jo Herman Obituary
age 82, passed, peacefully, into the Lord's arms, from her Zoar home on Nov. 22, 2010. She was born July 31, 1928 daughter of the late Roy and Eva Firman. Jo Ann attended Mt. Union College, the University of Colorado and graduated from Washington State University with a double major of music and education. Jo Ann was a retired special education teacher in the Tuscarawas and Stark County school systems. She was a member of the Perry Baptist Church, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and a proud former member of the Massillon Tiger Swing Band. She enjoyed gardening, playing piano and square dancing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her dear grandmother, Lillian Turner and brother, Dr. Earl Turner of Massillon. Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband, Wilbur M. Herman of Zoar; brother, Bill Conner of Andover, N.Y.; daughter, Cheryl Eve (William) Herrmann of Caledonia, Ohio; two sons, Michael Martin of Canton and Mark David (Kelly) Herman of Zoar; five grandchildren, Adam, Kaitlin, Elizabeth, Mark and Travis.
Calling Hours are Friday, Nov. 26 from 6-8 p.m., as well as, 11-12 Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at The Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Pastor T.W. Teall will officiate a service, noon Saturday, at the Reed Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Plainfield Cemetery in Coshocton County.
