JOAN DONNARUMMO Obituary

Joan B. Donnarummo

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Joan B. Donnarummo, 78, of North Canton, Ohio. She was born on December 5, 1940 and went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2019. Joan was born in Horseheads, NY. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Benedict (now deceased). Her siblings were Ray Benedict, Phil Benedict (both deceased), and she is survived by her sister, Lois Hilderbrandt who lives in Florida. Joan was a believer of Jesus Christ at an early age. She received Jesus in her heart at the age of 15 at her now husband's home church in Buffalo, NY. She was married to Thomas Greaves and had two children: Thomas and April. She was married for 16 years to Thomas, but then divorced. To support her family, she became a sales person with Sysco Food Systems and became a million-dollar sales achiever during a time when the sales force was mostly men. Several years later, she met Daniel Donnarummo, a childhood friend, and they fell in love and got married. They just celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. Joan and Dan's married life was filled with travels to Bible Conferences, and serving at Cornerstone Church in North Canton, and the Alliance Friends Church in Alliance, Ohio. In her prime age, she sounded the shofar to begin Sunday worship, was instrumental in launching a ministry outreach to Pakistan, and went on missions' trips to Guatemala and Bulgaria. She had a love for the Word of God, a love for her family, and serving other people.

She is survived by her husband Daniel Donnarummo; her children: Thomas Greaves and April Arnone and husband Vince, Dan's son Timothy Donnarummo; her grandchildren: Andrew, Susannah, Isabella, and Galilee, her sister Lois, nieces and nephews, friends, and a treasured dog Jesse. She will be missed as a wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend by so many.

The viewing will be at Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON CHAPEL, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW on Friday, January 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. There will be a short grave-side service immediately afterwards in North Canton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the SPCA in Canton, Ohio or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at alzfdn.org. To send online condolences please visit: www.reedfuneralhome.com
