Lucille Morello Obituary

Lucille A. Morello 2017
age 83, died Wednesday after a short illness. Born in Jersey City, N.J., she had lived in Canton since 1972. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church.
Survived by her husband, Herbert Morello; children: Martin Morello (Chrissy Johnson) of Akron, Mary (Frank) Manello of Canton, Lucy (Rob) Cook of Johnstown, Ohio and Herbert J. Morello of Canton; grandchildren: Maria Cicciarelli, Lucia, Robbie and Aaron Cook and Dominick Morello; great-grandson, Joachim Cicciarelli; sister, Barbara Guzzi of New Jersey; and brother, George (Camille) Hayden of New Jersey. Preceded in death by her son, Joseph Morello; parents, George and Lucy Hayden; and sister, Lois Hayden. Lucille was a devoted wife and loving mother of her five children and devout Roman Catholic. In her early life she was a very athletic woman and loved the outdoors. She loved to swim in the Delaware river on family vacations. As a teenager she was able to swim across the Delaware River from Pennsylvania to New York. She once pulled a drowning child from the river in very rough waves when she was twelve. She attended Walsh College in the 70's but spent most of her life as a homemaker putting all of her time into taking care of her five children. She was so concerned with their upbringing she refused to ever get a babysitter and preferred to be with them herself. She was a fierce advocate for the Right to Life Cause and the Blessed Mother. She prayed so often for her family that she eventually came up with names for all of their Guardian Angels so she could pray to them specifically for each child. She was conservative in her thinking on all matters including diplomacy, etiquette and dress. She loved dogs and the larger the better. Over her life she was known for taking in large dogs and then taking care of them for their lifetime. Old black and white movies were her favorite because of their wholesomeness that seldom exists in todays movies and society. Lucille never wavered in her principles and was so deserving of all the respect she received from her family. The family would like to thank the staffs of the Laurels of Massillon and Crossroads Hospice for their care.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with entombment in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations may be made to Ohio Right to Life or EWTN Global Catholic Television Network. Condolences may be made to:
