Mary Maxin Obituary
Age 92, of Canton passed away Tuesday morning following a brief illness. A life resident of Canton, she was the daughter of the late Stefan and Mary (Kokoruda) Hurtuk. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Maxin Jr. who died in 1993; grandsons: Matthew Maxin, Arthur Zacharias; sisters: Johanna Sivy, Cecilia Sampson and Agnes Williams.
She is survived by her sons: Eric (Becky) Maxin of Canton, George (Sandy) Maxin III of Louisville; daughters: Nancy (Richard) Ross of Lakewood, Ohio, Carol (Mark) King of Tucson, Ariz., Marlene Maxin of Canton; sister, Theresa Hreha of Griffith, Ind.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Edward L. Beneleit as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home. For those unable to attend services you may register at our 'On Line Registry Page' at:

Was so sorry to hear about the loss of Mary. We are in Arizona and will not be able to be present for the funeral, but our thoughts are with you. Could never of asked for better neighbors than the ones on 26th st.
