Neil Travis Obituary

Neil C. Travis
age 70 of Massillon, went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2010 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Dec. 29, 1939 in Erie, Pa. to the late John and Lucy (Mutch) Travis. He served in the US Army. Neil retired from Massillon Cable TV after 35 years. He had the pleasure of working for Dick and Sue Gessner (and family) who were dear friends to him and his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving, classic cars and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol L. (Stewart) Travis; two sons, Bob (Gloria) Travis of Guam and Chris (Pam) Travis of Massillon; daughter, Vicki (Dave) Robbins of Massillon; sister, Joanne Travis of Youngstown and six grandchildren. He will always be remembered for being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Honoring his wishes, there will be no service and he will be buried at the Newman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation of Northeast Ohio and/or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to take this time to thank all of Neil's friends for attending his birthday party. He was so happy to visit with so many of his friends that he had not seen for years. Messages of support and sympathy can be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.

We are very sorry for the loss of Neil. We enjoyed getting to know him over the past few years. The kids loved to run across the street from Vicki's to hang out with him, and of coarse Carol too. I personnally remember Neil as being one of the nicest and most down to earth people I know. He will truly be missed.
