Otis Bell Obituary
departed this life after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 23, 1947 to the late John T. Bell and Wyona Whitehurst. He attended McKinley High School and was a proud Bulldog. After a brief stint in the Vietnam War, he returned stateside and after extensive travels decided to settle in Hawaii for several years. Returning to Canton gave him a chance to spend time and get close to the family and friends that he loved to make laugh with his silly jokes and crazy humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father John T. Bell Sr. and mother Wyona Whitehurst; brothers, John T. Bell Jr. and Gary Snell. He leaves to cherish his memory, son Perry Gibson of Canton Ohio; sisters, Robin Whitehurst of Columbus Ohio, Renee Biggums of Canton Ohio; brother, Shawn Whitehurst of Arkansas; nieces, Euzhan and Alek Shabazz, Candice and Samara Biggums and Scarlett Whitehurst; nephews, Raymond (Crystal) Brinson, Shawn C. Atkins, Shawn Duncan, Jordan, Jaden and Jacob Whitehurst; numerous cousins, other relatives and special friends, Jovan Black and Patricia Massey.
Services will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.
