Richard Carr Obituary
'Bunny'
age 55, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 6, 2011 at his home around family. He was born in Canton, Ohio on July 7, 1945. He is preceded in death by his wife, Reverend Rebecca (Becky) Carr; parents, Thomas and Clora Dell Carr; sister, Emma Branson. Richard is a proud graduate of Canton McKinley High School where he played football for the Bulldogs. He served his country proudly and fought with the U.S. Armed Forces (Army) and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for Multi County Juvenile corrections as a Youth Group Leader.
With all of his accomplishments, his proudest and most successful was raising his children. He leaves many memories to his children, Richard Carr, Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Anthony (Tony) Carr, Thomas Branson, Dennis Branson, Denise Branson of Canton, Ohio and Elizabeth Branson of Massillon, Ohio; his grandchildren, Malcolm Branson, Brooke Branson, Veronika Williams and Darryl Hudson; brother, Thomas Carr of Canton, Ohio; sister, Linda Ruffin of Canton, Ohio; aunt, Jesse Wilson of Canton, Ohio and a host of other relatives and many friends throughout the community.
Homegoing service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 2237 6th St., S.W., where Pastor Wallace Luke will be eulogizing. Calling hours are Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home, located at 729 Cherry Ave N.E., Canton, Ohio 44702 and Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church. Interment in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio 44270.
