Sally Lessig Obituary

Sally L.
(Bordner) Lessig
age 84, of Perry Twp., passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 after a brief illness. Sally was born April 17, 1928 in Canton, Ohio, the third of five children born to Harold P. Bordner and H. Luella (McClain) Bordner. At age seven, she survived a near fatal bout with pneumonia. She went on to graduate with honors from Lincoln High School in 1946. In 1949, she married fellow Lincoln graduate Wade D. Lessig ('44), who preceded her in death in 1997. Sally was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed working outdoors, reading and following her favorite local sports teams. For nearly twenty years, she worked in the Perry school system.
She is survived by three children, Jeffrey Lessig, Leslie (Lessig) Young and Matthew Lessig; as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is also survived by brother, Dave Bordner and sister, Cheryl (Bordner) Wilson.
Out of respect for Sally's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the Lincoln High School Alumni Scholarship Fund. The family would like to thank the Aultman Hospital CCU nursing staff for their outstanding care.

Wade and Sally were not only family but were our very best friends. We took many wonderful trips with them and spent time together at our cottage at Lakeside. We will always cherish the good times and will have them in our thoughts each and every day.

The world has lost a good one! We enjoyed Sally as a neighbor (and awesome pie baker!!)! Stopping to talk as we went for our walk (and Sally was out mowing grass or raking leaves) and finding out the neighborhood news, family news or just laughing together! Keith shared many years at Perry with Sally! She gave us some good advice for Melanie's future career! She certainly had a voice and one we listened too! We appreciated every moment, even more so now! God's comfort to the Lessig family. Keith and Melanie Heist

Dear Jeff, Leslie & Matt -
Words can't express the way I feel right now. Your mom was a very special person in my life. I remember all the good times we had together. I talked to her about a year ago to catch up with the family. I know she is with her Savior and with your Dad. Please let me know about the memorial service. I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts. God Bless!!!
