Thomas F. Roth
77, of Apopka, Fla., went to be with his Lord and Savior Oct. 10, 2011 at Affinity Medical Center, Massillon, Ohio. He was born in Massillon on Aug. 7, 1934 to the late William W. and Mildred E. Glasgow Roth. He graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1952 . He attended Miami University and The Cleveland School of Engineering. He worked as an Architect for Crystal Park Lumber until 1985 and then Quantum Architecture until his retirement in 2000. Thomas was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Apopka, Fla. and was a church deacon until his health no longer allowed him to serve and attended the Dalton Baptist Church when in Ohio. He was an Assistant Scout Master of Troop 280, Epworth Methodist Church. He received the The Pipe Stone Award from the Boy Scouts of America and both of his son's are Eagle Scouts.
He is survived by his wife, Madalyn I. Lutz Roth, whom he married June 13, 1954; daughter, Deborah and Gary Swisher of Dalton; two sons, Douglas E. and Julia Roth of Massillon, Bruce Alan Roth and Steve Hoel of Apopka, Fla.; four granddaughters, Melinda, Erica, Heather and Mindi; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, David John and Barbie Roth of Findlay.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold –Lynch Funeral Home, Pastor Dave Greegor presiding. Burial at Brookfield Cemetery will be private and at a later date. The family will receive friends Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that loving remembrances be given in Thomas's memory to the Dalton Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
