Together Again
89, of Canton passed away on October 2, 2017. Thomas was born July 27, 1928 in Canton, Ohio to the late John and Ethel Sholtis. He graduated from Timken High School in 1946 and retired from Wean United after 40 years of service. He served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. Tom was a member of Bethel Temple Church for 78 years and recently Grace Fellowship Church. He was a member of DAV Chapter OH8, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and gardening. Tom was a fastball pitcher in the Industrial and Church Softball Leagues and was an avid bowler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Sholtis after 63 years of marriage. He is survived by sons, Thomas Lee (Cynthia) Sholtis of Lexington, Ohio and Gregory Scott Sholtis of Canton; daughter, Taryn (Tony) Casebolt of Canton; brothers, Rev. Arthur (Ruth) Sholtis of Springfield, Mo. and Jack (Joyce) Sholtis of Canton; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday October 6, 2017 at Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON CHAPEL with Rev. E. Keith Stephens officiating. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday October 5, 2017 and Friday from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care. The family invites you to visit www.reedfuneralhome.com.
