On Thursday night, June 20,2024, Mae Marie (Anderson) Sholtis went home to dance with her husband in God's dance hall. She was 88 years old and born on May 12, 1936.
She lived a long, happy life filled with love and much, much laughter. She loved quilting, her Red Hat ladies, meeting with class reunion buddies, doing crossword puzzles, watching her favorite gameshows, and telling jokes to all of her friends. She will be sorely and sadly missed.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, her parents Alfred & Pauline (Nemitz) Anderson, her husband, Joseph J. "Jack" Sholtis, and her oldest daughter, Beth Sholtis.
Survivors include her 4 loving children: Sharon M. Sholtis of Ashtabula, George A. (Kaye) Sholtis of Fort Loramie, Oh, Jackie K. Sholtis & David Varkett (+50 points!) of Ashtabula, and Jill S. (Chad) Fuller of Ravenna, Oh; 7 adoring grandchildren: Jenna C. Beaver, Carly (Alex) Rosenbeck, Tate ( Alexis Fleckenstein) Sholtis, Ava Sholtis, Quinn Sholtis, Juliana Fuller, and Angelina Fuller; 3 beautiful great-grandchildren: Jackson, Olympia, and Sophia and her ever-so-loved God-daughter, Michaella Facello.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at noon in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. Ashtabula with Father John Keehner of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating, burial will take place in in St. Joseph Cemetery. I can still hear Aunt Mae's voice calling me Henny Penny. If there was anyone who always treated me nice and made me welcome it was Aunt Mae. Always a laugh, even when she had something to complain about. Miss you Aunt Mae.
