Arthur Scott Mobley

Arthur Scott Mobley, 93, a 45-year resident of Edgewater, MD, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center of respiratory failure following a short illness. Known to family and friends as Scott, he was born in Prairie Grove, AR to the late Roe and Hester Mobley. Scott received his Bachelor's degree as part of the 1954 graduating class of the United States Naval Academy and received his Master of Science degree as part of the Naval Post Graduate School at the University of Southern California. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Commander from 1948-77. As an active member of his community, Scott was the longtime president of the Annapolis Neck Peninsula Foundation. He enjoyed home projects, reading spy novels, Navy football, and spending time with his family and friends, but would often self-proclaim that he was lazy. In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jean Mobley. He is survived by his four children, Captain Arthur S. Mobley, Jr. and his wife Monique of Waunakee, WI, Janet Larsen of Woodbridge, VA, Sharon Warner and her husband Tony of Edgewater, MD, and Susan Paolatto and her husband Dave of Sherborn, MA; and six grandchildren, Sean Mobley of Bellevue, WA, Meghan Warner of New Market, MD, Lauren Mobley of Madison, WI, and Joe, Matt, and Kate Paolatto, all of Sherborn, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Scott's life on Saturday, May 20 at 11 am at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
