Brian O'Neill Obituary



Brian Wayne O'Neill, 43, of Tyler, TX and previously of Lothian, MD died September 3, 2014. Brian graduated from Southern High School, Class of '89, then from Anne Arundel Community College and Baltimore City Community College, receiving his degree and license as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Brian worked as a physical therapy assistant in Maryland for several years before moving to Texas. He was the Director of Quality Management for Trinity Mother Frances and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospitals in Tyler. Brian loved to play his guitar and write music. His passion was being involved in all types of sports. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and joined Challenged Sportsmen of America after his disability. Some of Brian's fondest memories were working on the family farm with his Dad and "Pop Pop". Brian was a loving husband, father, son, and brother, and he was loved and cherished by his extended family and many friends. Brian is survived by his wife Mary Biddle O'Neill; daughters Addison and Jordan O'Neill; son Alan O'Neill all of Tyler; father Wayne O'Neill (Susan) of Lothian; mother Cheryl Cowan Jones (Jack) of Ocklawaha, Florida; siblings Keith O'Neill (Rebecca), Crystal Spring, Kenneth, Danielle and Brittney O'Neill all of Maryland; grandmothers Pauline O'Neill Tilley of Lothian and Shirley Cowan of Florida. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers John R. O'Neill, Jr. and Verne Cowan. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. James Parish, 5757 Solomons Island Road, Lothian, MD. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Parish; Challenged Sportsmen of America, Mcallen, TX Chapter; or to the Brian O'Neill Scholarship at Southern High School for scholar athletes in the class of 2015. A GoFundMe page has been established to accept donations. Details for donations will be available at the visitation or through the family.
