Dr.Carillo was my attending surgeon when I started my surgical residency in 1976 at PG General Hospital. He was an excellent surgeon and teacher.I felt at ease with him during many difficult surgical cases. He taught us pearls in surgical technique which are not in any text book.
He was a great human and showed me what an American should be,open and good hearted.I will cherish his memories all my life.

Frank, Donny, Becky, Rachel, Bonnie: I remember your father as a strong and fun loving father. Good times at Deep Creek and waterskiing with Donny in Davidsonville. Your dad once sewed me up after I stepped on a broken bottle one summer, long ago. I still got the scar. He was a good friend to my Dad who always spoke about him. Miss you guys!

Remembered by myself and colleagues as a calming force in my five year affiliation with him as the Commander the 459th USAF Tactical Hospital.
Always a gentleman, a skilled surgeon and always - always a great sense of humor. Once,on a summer encampment-in a far away place, twenty of us showed up wearing red T-Shirts emblazoned with "CARILLO'S GUERILLA'S". A token of appreciation of his leadership. Rest in Peace, Colonel

I am so sorry to hear about "Uncle Frank's" passing. This is the man that took out my tonsils and handled every other surgery in our family for many years. His relationship with Pop (Bill Razzano) was one that taught me the meaning of lifelong friendship. They were a formidable force on the golf course together. I'm forever grateful to him for coming to have "one last drink" with Pop before Pop passed. It meant so much to him. Our families are tied by these two truly vibrant men. Please let us know if you need anything.

I only met Frank a little less than two years ago, here at Riderwood Village. I had the pleasure of playing golf with him a few times in 2009 and admired his determination to play despite some physical challenges. Despite a 14 year difference in age, we had a common bond with golf and both being Fordham University rams. I'll never forget his humor and, as I told him, his striking resemblance to Walter Matthau, not only in his looks, but in his speech inflections, voice, mannerisms and, of course, his laughter. Thanks for your friendship, Frank, albeit brief.

Doc, you will sorely be missed by everyone. Such an accomplished man who always gave back. No matter what or how he felt that day, Frank always had a smile for you. He was truly a kind, caring, and honorable man, and we felt honored to know him. (Vince, Maureen, & Ryan)

Carillo Family:
I spent many days ( and nights) with Frank in Vail and Park City and many other days with him at Prince Georges and Doctors Hospitals. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone and I truly loved and will miss him. I understand that at the end he simply wished to be in a place that he thought was better and I hope his wish is granted.

I extend my condolences from my wife Carol and myself as well as all the members of the Air Force Reserve Association of which he was a member. Frank was my mentor in the reserves and a good friend for many years. I have sent along a photo of the two of us taken at our reunion in 2007.

Frank, Don, Becky and Rachel: I just viewed the photo memories on the site here - wow! tears and smiles at the same time. I am so fortunate to have spent time with you guys growing up in Bowie and up at Deep Creek and Wisp. Your family was so generous and fun when friends like us tagged along to go hang out on the lake in the summer or try to get down the face in the winter. Your dad, "Dr. C" was so welcoming and down to earth, you forgot sometimes that he was surgeon. Oh yeah, he also kept us Carroll Lion football players healthy as the team doc back in the day (when we kicked many a butt). So many good memories. Your dad is smiling down from heaven now. He has a turkey cooking on the weber grill while we're skiing with some fine wine waiting for us when we see him again in Glory. God Bless, See you all in a couple days. Slainte! Brian
